I first stumbled upon this artwork in Portland, OR last summer in a little boutique there. I forgot about it almost completely until I ran across it on Etsy today. I love the simplicity of the painting mixed with the complexity of the map behind it. The bees wax pulls the two together, blurring the map and emphasizing the paint. I think it's really cute.
